Project Features

  • TOTAL POWER: 2×160 kVA
  • TRANSPORT VOLTAGE: 5,500 V
  • NETWORK LENGTH: 6,600 mètres
  • LOCATION: Ivory Coast
  • YEAR: 2014

PROJET OBJECTIVES

Build a toll bridge between Cocody and Marcory to allow a significant time saving when connecting the two municipalities. Distribute electricity throughout the structure.

CUSTOMER NEEDS

From the toll barrier, create permanent networks to supply lighting and other uses over 6,600 meters. Consider the constraints of the bridge, the wet environment, and the limited space available for installing equipment.

OUR SOLUTION IMPLEMENTED

Create 5500V networks from low voltage. Transport the energy along the structure and step it down as close as possible to the receivers using watertight transformers. Remotely control the lighting and monitor the proper supply to the receivers using power line communication (PLC).

MATERIAL USED

2 step-up transformers 160 kVA 400 V / 5,500 V,
One 5,500 V cells with two contactors,
20 watertight transformers TER single phase for three phase 5,500 V / 230 V; 1 to 8 kVA,
Equipment for controlling lighting and monitoring 5,500 V networks via powerline communication STEP.

CUSTOMER BENEFITS:

Watertight (IP68) and corrosion resistant transformers

Power line communication on 5500 V networks

Secured power supply from only one substation
